Purpose
The Communication Specialist - Canada is responsible for supporting and executing marketing and communication plans for Delta Star throughout Canada while supporting Delta Star North in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. Working side-by-side with the Corporate Marketing & Communication Team to create impactful campaigns directed toward internal and external stakeholders to generate value for the business while remaining in line with DSI's Brand Guidelines to create an impactful brand experience.
Main Responsibilities
- Cultivate an engaged and informed workforce within Delta Star North to support business, product & service, and personnel growth.
- Partner with Corporate Marketing & Communications team to ensure that all materials for local and national marketing and communication activities are produced in accordance with DSI Brand Guidelines.
- Continually learn and educate local colleagues on the importance of the brand experience.
- Implement assigned marketing and communications activities through all available communications tools according to brand guidelines, directives, and messages.
- Lead local advertising, sponsorship, and other promotional activities to drive brand awareness within the local community.
- Responsible for translating marketing and communication material from English to French Canadian to support business unit needs and Governmental requirements.
Specific Duties
- Assist in the development of marketing and communication materials that champions the employee experience to all internal audiences.
- Proposing, creating, and implementing communication activities including social media content, internal messaging, and employee communications.
- Partner with the Corporate Marketing & Communications team in producing assets across multiple platforms (print, digital, and web).
- Drafts and distributes internal site-specific communications.
- Generating brand awareness via advertising, sponsorship, events, and other promotional activities.
- Organizing corporate and site-specific events to increase corporate image and to support the business unit.
- Foster positive working relationships with multiple stakeholders and a variety of functions (technical and commercial) across the business. Strong collaboration with Corporate Marketing & Communications Team.
- Serve as brand ambassador at various events, both locally and nationally.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, public relations or related field.
- 5 years of work experience in marketing, communication or public relations, preferably in a setting related to the business.
- Experience in photography is a plus.
- Fluent French and English required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ease communicating in English and French, both written and spoken.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interpret messages, understand audiences, and create clear, creative content that communicates desired message to target market.
- In-depth knowledge of employer branding strategies and recruitment marketing a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
