ABOUT THE FIRM

Located in the heart of Downtown Toronto, our client is a full-service law firm with 20 lawyers that primarily specialize in Commercial Litigation, Securities, Corporate Law and Real Estate and Construction Law practices. It has a very cohesive work-environment and a non-hierarchical, non-linear office culture that promotes collaboration.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role has a very flexible, hybrid work schedule. The Commercial Litigation Lawyer reports to a Senior Partner and works as a part of a larger litigation team in all aspects of Commercial Litigation practice.

ABOUT YOU

You are a mid-level commercial litigation associate who previously worked in a large firm and has at least 2-6 years of well-rounded commercial litigation experience in a broad variety of areas including commercial litigation, insolvency, commercial insurance claims, mortgage enforcement or construction claims. If you do have strong property dispute and insolvency/receivership experience, that would be an asset.

Requirements

  1. A JD / LLB and be a Member of the Law Society of Ontario in good standing (or a reciprocating provincial jurisdiction).
  2. Minimum two years of commercial litigation, insolvency, commercial insurance claims, mortgage enforcement or construction claims experience.
  3. Exceptional practice management skills, excellent interpersonal skills and a client service orientation.
  4. Sound judgment, strong oral and written communication skills and excellent organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
