Commercial Landscape Maintenance Lead

About You:

You would describe yourself as a learner who enjoys variety and being part of a team that cares about providing service that makes a difference. You are physically fit to perform the job, so the work is both safe and gratifying for you. You also enjoy the reward that comes from the physical work and the creative aspect of what we do. Having leadership/mentor qualities to support co-workers and the ability to create good rapport and quality relationships with clients is a real plus.

You also have:

1. Horticulture Certificate (or equivalent) and a minimum of 4 years industry experience;
2. IPM Certificate, – preferred, not required;
3. Skill in the use & care of tools and equipment typically required in the role (hand tools, hedge trimmers, blowers);
4. Basic irrigation knowledge;

We are a full-service company meaning you will be doing pruning and cleanup, full bed maintenance, insect and pest management, and winter preparation at our commercial maintenance sites. We have our own construction, irrigation, and lawn crews to complement your work so the focus of this position will be on providing care and quality maintenance to our clients while deriving pride in your own efforts.

The Rest:

1. Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence;
2. Hourly rate: $22-$30/hr commensurate with experience;
3. Hours of work: Our shifts are typically 8 hrs rather than the industry norm of 10. Balance!
4. Benefits: An employee benefits plan, a budget for training and development;
5. Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal; Contract length: 9 months;
6. Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour;
7. Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week;
8. Additional pay: Overtime pay;
