Commercial & Advertising Coordinator

Full-time, Term Position (18 months)

Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Development & Advertising, the Commercial & Advertising Coordinator administers the oversight into daily operations of business partners regarding the in-terminal commercial & advertising programs with the goal of stimulating non-aeronautical revenues and providing elevated guest experiences. They are accountable for coordinating the day-to-day activities associated with the commercial and advertising programs, including acting as a liaison between the business partners and YEG.

You might be wondering what you can expect in a typical day at work. Every day will bring new opportunities, focusing on key responsibilities, including:

  • Understand the source and flow of all financial and statistical data and ensure the integrity and accuracy of data.
  • Provide input into the development of standards, processes, and procedures for the effective and efficient operation of the commercial program and provide input for improvement on existing processes and procedures.
  • Administer the commercial audit program, ensuring accurate and timely information is captured, reported, and a database of auditing results is maintained.
  • Conduct research and establish key industry contacts to understand current commercial trends, revenue stimulation, and customer desires.
  • Act as a liaison between business partners and the Commercial Development & Advertising team in the day-to-day operations of the in-terminal commercial program, provide subject matter expertise and support in understanding commercial processes and procedures, troubleshoot any issues, and escalate where required.
  • Liaise with business partners for operational readiness, security requirements, delivery logistics, and ensure that all other operational requirements are in conjunction with YEG while maintaining a positive relationship with partners.
  • Cross-functionally working with other internal departments to meet the needs of the customers and passengers and to ensure YEG policies and procedures are met in conjunction with Transport Canada guidelines.
  • Review all partners' hours of operation signage, secondary signage, displays, and merchandise zones to ensure compliance with lease obligations and uphold YEG’s standards.
  • Gathering data and coordinating formal submissions of any commercial awards & directory submissions.
  • Coordinate and administer the third-party advertising portfolio.
  • Maintain, distribute, and update the Business Partner Handbook.
  • Ensure the successful coordination and facilitation of meetings, including appropriate coordination of resources (facility, speaker, etc.), agenda, and minute preparation.
  • Organize and coordinate special events for the commercial program, including collecting relevant information, identifying requirements, and facilitating events as needed.
  • Assisting with the execution of the Strategy and Business Plan as it relates to revenue generation under the direction of the Manager, Commercial Development & Advertising.
  • Assisting with creative approvals of third-party advertisements and working alongside our advertising partner on logistical work plans for installations.

You Have:

  • Diploma or certificate in business administration, property management, or related subject.
  • Experience managing, administering and understanding confidential legal agreements.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of property management systems and/or AX are preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a high-pressure environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop positive business relationships and customer service.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and presentational skills.
  • Demonstrate a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented manner of working.
  • Must have a “can do” attitude and willingness to contribute to a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate airport security clearance is required.

REPORTS TO: Manager, Commercial Development and Advertising

BAND: 6 (Included in the General Bargaining Unit)

SALARY: $38.91 - $43.14 per hour (37.5 hours per week)
