Cold Storage Order Picker

Job Summary:

The Cooler + Freezer Order Picker is responsible for filling customer orders in the cooler and freezer storage areas of our Warehouse, while meeting accuracy and productivity expectations. This position will be aware of all aspects of the general Warehouse operation, and may also be required to perform additional warehouse-related tasks as needed.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Pick products as indicated on individual pick lists.
2. Place products on pallet such that they are stable, secure and well-balanced.
3. Be familiar with warehouse layout, including directional access and location codes.
4. Meet and exceed expectations related to accuracy and productivity.
5. Adhere to safety standards, both in equipment use and in picking procedures.
6. Learn and follow steps to choose correct pallet for different customers.
7. Follow procedures when product is out-of-stock.
8. Place pallets in correct staging area (for QC to check or for shipping).
9. As directed, wrap pallets and prepare for shipping.
10. Complete paperwork as required (pallet tags, tracking paperwork, etc.).
11. Learn and follow spill clean-up procedures.
12. Participate in inventory as required.
13. Assist with general warehouse clean up/housekeeping.

Qualifications + Expectations:

1. At least one year experience working in a cooler and/or freezer environment.
2. At least one year experience order picking in a distribution warehouse (case-sized items, not pick-and-pack) preferred.
3. High level of physical ability and endurance.
4. Repeated lifting, bending, twisting, standing, reaching.
5. Attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
6. Ability to work autonomously; be self-directed and complete work independently.
7. Reading comprehension of alphanumeric codes.
8. Pallet Mover (Class 3 Code 8) and Reach Truck (Class 2 Code 2) experience preferred, but not required.
9. Knowledge of warehouse (distribution) operations and flow.

Compensation + Working Conditions:

This is a full-time, permanent position with a set schedule of Tuesday to Saturday; weekday hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, weekend hours are 9am to 5pm. The starting wage is $23.95/ hour with a paid meal break. We have scheduled wage increases based on hours worked and a company-wide Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) annual wage review.
