We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical GIS Student to assist in enhancing our geographic information system (GIS) database. This is a great opportunity to gain proficiency in ArcGIS while helping the City meet its NG911 requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Create sub-addresses for large complexes to ensure accurate location data for emergency services.
2. Determine building heights and floors for high-rise towers to assist in emergency response planning.
3. Map town-house condo units to improve address accuracy and emergency response times.
4. Identify and map unnamed streets to enhance the completeness of our GIS database.
5. Develop common names for locations to facilitate easier identification and communication.
6. Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
7. Assist with other related GIS tasks as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Currently enrolled in a Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, or related program.
2. Strong understanding of GIS principles and practices.
3. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Good communication skills.

Hourly Rate/Salary: 19.80 - 23.53
