CNC Programmer/Machinist with Mazak/Mazatrol experience (2nd shift + 10% shift premium)

One of Calgary’s foremost machine shops, Levy’s Machine Works Ltd., is looking for a highly skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist with experience on Mazak lathes for its 2nd shift (4pm to 2am, 4 days, Monday to Thursday).

Qualifications and experience required:

• 5 years minimum CNC machining experience – specifically Mazak lathes and Mazatrol programming and controls
• Experience in machining large turned parts, specifically downhole drilling components, an asset
• Experience with live tooling, mill/turn machine and sub-spindle (preferably Mazak MY/MSY) highly desirable
• Ability to set up, program and work from a drawing
• Certified Journeyman CNC Machinist or equivalent experience
• Experience with G-Code programming an asset
• Experience in the machining of complex ‘one off’ parts and prototypes an asset
• Experience in machining exotic materials, including Nitronic 50 and Beryllium Copper an asset
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Good communication skills
• A career-oriented team player who works well with other people
• Experience with machinery maintenance an asset
• Used to working with quality procedures and to ISO 9001.2015 standards
• Able to verify dimensions using measuring instruments
• Experience in completing full part inspections and inspection records
• Able to undertake job task planning and organizing
• Manual machining experience is an asset
• Strong in math, geometry
• English fluency
• Eligible to work in Canada
