Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Works interactively with all Takeoff Technicians, Programmers, Fabrication Supervisor/Engineer, and CNC Machine Operators to provide accurate & efficient programs for standard fabrication of aluminum extrusions for doors and frames.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure CNC programs meet design intent and production requirements.
Create, modify, improve current and new programs. Including: training /sharing knowledge with CNC operators
Adjusting G and M codes, speeds/feeds, and other lines of code within a program as needed
Ability to independently flex between hardware compatibility check/layout, takeoff, & programming all depending upon workload and current demands.
Ability to communicate with customers on a professional level to obtain information to complete the job in a timely fashion.
Layout of hardware in AutoCAD or other CNC programs.
Order Management
Reading of project specific job shop and installation instructions
Complete shop orders (KaluCAD takeoff) efficiently and accurately.
Release to manufacturing verified amounts of manufactured products and quantities, and vendor supplied products and quantities.
Control quality during the manufacturing process and make changes necessary to avoid errors.
Collaborate with other team members to solve technical issues and maintain production schedule.
Lead regular maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC machines to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Conduct quality inspections of machined components to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
Adhere to safety procedures and regulations by maintaining safe operations.
Proactive Participation in educational opportunities such as machine engineering studies and process improvement
Work with toolroom on necessary machining for jigs and fixtures for the CNC machines.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Journeyman Machinist Certification and/or Two years or more post-secondary education in CNC Machining Technology
Must have full working ability with CAD/CAM software.
Must have full working ability with CNC programming (G and M codes)
Employees must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
5 years of work experience in manufacturing environment working directly with CNC milling programming and machine operation.
Strong experience with aluminum door and frame fabrication including custom hardware applications.
Certificate Program including coursework in metal machining processes.
AutoCAD, SolidWorks/Mastercam, CamProx or other 2D/3D Drafting Program
Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education
Excellent computer skills (AutoCAD, Microsoft Office)
Excellent organization skills
The ability to communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing so others will understand.
