CNC Programmer

Our client, located in Scarborough, ON, has an immediate opportunity:

CNC Programmer/Operator – 5 Axis

The CNC Machinist is responsible for programming, setup and operation of 5 axis CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controllers. This is a programmer/Operator role and is cutting edge technology.

Ideal requirements:

1. 10 years CNC programming experience of 3/4/5 axis
2. 5 years CNC set-up/operating experience
3. Experience with mold and build to print parts involving low quantity (1-10) runs
4. Experience with on machine verification using CNC probing and programming

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform each essential duty with precision and with little supervision
• Read process sheets, blueprints and/or sketches of part to determine final product
• Review specifications to determine set up procedure, machining sequence and dimensions of finished product
• Responsible for editing programs
• Ensure effective production of quality parts by checking drawings or sketches, using gauges and other measuring equipment

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, College Technician / Technologist graduate preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in 5 axis CNC machining
• Experience in machining components to tight tolerances
