ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a CNC Machinist and Programmer at K.A. Group, you will be responsible for operating CNC machines and programming them to produce high-quality components for our scraper manufacturing process. This is a hands-on role that requires expertise in machining techniques, precision, and a deep understanding of CNC programming. You will work with advanced CNC machinery, including lathes and mills, to create parts that meet the strict specifications and quality standards of our products.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders to produce components according to blueprints, specifications, and job orders.
- Select appropriate tools, inserts, and fixtures for each job and perform tool changes as necessary.
- Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software such as Inventor HSM, Fusion 360 to efficiently produce parts with tight tolerances.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure parts are being produced within specified dimensions and quality standards.
- Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify conformance to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production personnel to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve any issues that arise during production.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as required.
- Achieve daily production and efficiency standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area according to maintenance plans and established procedures.
- Responsible for inspections and documentation to ensure quality.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical degree or certificate in machining or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Inventor HSM, Fusion 360 or similar programs.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and machining techniques.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality orientation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to analyze and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.
