As a certified CNC Machinist at Wexxar Packaging, you'll have the opportunity to take on full Machine Shop duties, manufacturing parts for the prestigious Wexxar product line. Your role will involve the adept use of machinery, troubleshooting, initiating engineering changes, and ensuring the precision of each part you craft. The starting wage for this role is $39.53 CAD per hour.

  • Troubleshooting machinery and initiating engineering changes to improve operations
  • Precisely manufacturing parts in accordance with provided drawings and specifications
  • Preparing and setting up machinery for machining processes
  • Mentoring and training peers in machine shop practices as required
  • Upholding plant safety standards to maintain a secure working environment
  • Ensuring the quality and quantity of machined components meet set expectations
  • Effectively communicating through both written and verbal means
  • Exhibiting a positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Taking on temporary duties as needed that are within the scope of machinist capabilities

  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent as an essential qualification
  • Completed a 4th-year machinist trade apprenticeship program or a machinist foundation certificate with CNC operator level 3 or equivalent credentials
  • Possess a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a machine shop environment, with proficient CNC machinery skills; experience in the packaging machinery industry, corrugated industry, or manufacturing processes will be considered a strong asset
  • Have a fundamental understanding of CNC programming
  • Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Ability to use mechanical hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments skillfully
  • Working experience operating manual machine shop equipment competently
  • Experience entering shop order data into ERP systems
  • Able to physically lift and maneuver items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Proven experience operating mills, lathes, and any secondary machinery within the machine shop
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and lifting without restriction
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada without Company sponsorship
