Interpreting drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of specific machining operations
Loading and editing control media to optimize and/or correct machine performance
Calculating and setting controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or entering commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control elements.
Starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions and adjusting machine controls or control media as required.
Using precision measurement tools to verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications with tolerances as low as +/- .001 to +/- .0002.
Conducting routine maintenance on equipment
Maintaining the machine and housekeeping of the work area.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
College Diploma or Certified Apprenticeship program in General Machining, Tool & Die, or Mould Maker preferred, or Mechanical Technician Diploma
Minimum 5+ years of recent experience operating a High Speed Finishing Mill to extremely tight tolerances
Proven knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings and using hand measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Ability to work in a high precision, fast-paced environment.
