Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to work in a fast-paced environment. The Operations Manager oversees daily operations, ensuring efficient fuel storage, transportation, and delivery. This role focuses on leadership, compliance, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction while driving business growth. A hands-on approach, strong problem-solving skills, and industry knowledge are essential for success.
Duties
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement business strategies to expand the company's footprint in the fuel, gas, and trucking industries.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to drive growth.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational and financial success.
- Manage budgets, drive cost optimization, and ensure financial health.
- Operational Oversight
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all operations.
- Oversee all aspects of fuel storage, transportation, and delivery logistics to ensure efficient and timely operations.
- Develop crisis management protocols for emergencies such as fuel shortages, vehicle breakdowns, or client disputes.
- Lead the adoption of new technologies or tools to enhance operational efficiency and streamline processes.
- Team Leadership
- Train, mentor, and support employees to ensure high levels of performance and satisfaction.
- Manage scheduling, including covering shifts for sick or absent employees to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Resolve conflicts between employees or between employees and clients, fostering a positive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and reward top-performing employees to maintain morale.
- Client Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Develop tailored proposals and solutions to meet specific client needs.
- Actively pursue new clients and market opportunities, presenting the company as a leader in fuel, gas, and trucking services.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Upon successful completion of the training period (6 months), the Operations Manager will assume sole responsibility for ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements.
- Monitor and maintain all required inspections, certifications, permits, and licenses for vehicles, facilities, and operations.
- Conduct regular audits of operational practices to ensure alignment with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Address any compliance deficiencies identified during audits or inspections promptly.
- Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies, overseeing all communications and submissions.
- Document and report all compliance-related actions to company owners.
- Reporting and Analytics
- Prepare detailed operational and financial reports for company owners or executives.
- Use data analytics to guide decision-making, identifying areas for improvement or innovation.
- Track and report on fuel usage, driver performance, client statistics, and overall business performance.
- Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Oversee loading and reloading of trucks for daily shifts.
- Coordinate driver routes, resolve issues during shifts, and provide real-time support.
- Ensure all fuel deliveries meet client specifications, handling special requests as needed.
- Manage ticketing systems, ensuring accuracy in fuel types, POs, job numbers, and client data.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of essential supplies, such as maintenance fluids and safety equipment.
- Covering Shifts and Absenteeism
- Step in to cover shifts for sick or absent employees, ensuring continuity of operations.
