Contributes to the overall success of the Cloud Engineering ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

1. Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
2. Support complex IT systems with strong experience in system administration, development, and operations.
3. Develop automation services, systems integrations, and pipelines implementation for the developed products.
4. Utilize strong experience in Cloud platforms (Google/Azure) and virtualization (VMWare) technologies and associated tools (vSphere, ESXi, Aria Automation [vRealize Automation]).
5. Have a strong development background in Python, and coding RESTful APIs. Develop automation and deployment utilities using PowerShell, Bash & Python.
6. Be an expert with HashiCorp tools: TFE (Terraform Enterprise) and HCP Enterprise Packer.
7. Be a Configuration Management Expert preferably with SaltStack, Ansible, or similar tools.
8. Have experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) delivery pipelines using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Gradle, Git, and Artifactory.
9. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
10. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

1. 3+ years of team lead experience, responsible for team management and delivering objectives.
2. 5+ years experience with HashiCorp technologies (TFE, HCP Packer) and CI/CD Tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Gradle, Artifactory).
3. 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in Configuration Management & Automation tools (e.g., SaltStack, Ansible or similar).
4. 8+ years of hands-on technical experience with automation and scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell & Bash).
5. 5+ years of hands-on technical experience with both Windows Operating Systems and VMWare Tools (Aria Automation, Aria Config, vSphere) Technologies.
6. 8+ years of hands-on technical experience with both RHEL 7.x / 8.x administration & Windows 2019 & 2022, Active Directory administration and configurations.
7. 8+ years of hands-on technical knowledge with Networking, Storage, and Security concepts, technologies, and operational experience.
8. Completion of a post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology-based stream.
