A career within our Infrastructure practice will provide you with the opportunity to design, build, coordinate and maintain the IT environments for clients to run internal operations, collect data, monitor, develop and launch products. Infrastructure management consists of hardware, storage, compute, network and software layers. As a part of our DevSecOps Engineering team, you will work as an individual contributor and/or be part of a team developing and delivering both prototype and production software. You will build, administer and manage processes associated with the DevSecOps aspects of testing, prototyping, security, automation, etc.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As a Cloud DevOps Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Customer Success

  • Collaborate with cross functional team members to develop and propose to potential customers technical cloud based solutions including proposals and statements of work Resource onboarding and offboarding (ex. NDA collection, client departure forms, status tracking)
  • Assist to develop reference architectures and best practice approaches to optimize clients’ cloud adoption, application performance, security, and cost models Contract reporting requirements (ex. Engagement status, budget, progress, scope/schedule, risks/issues)
  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate to designs and approach
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with internal and external customers
  • Identify and prioritize use cases for implementation
  • Identify technical requirements for the identified use cases and build an implementation plan

Coaching, Recruiting, and Mentorship

  • Identify new candidates to join the Cloud Engineering team
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to fellow team members

Implementation, Innovation (building), and Learning

  • Take an “always learning” approach to your role, continuing to advance your skills, knowledge and network in Cloud and DevOps
  • Cloud moves fast and requires a lot of “labbing and learning”, be an out of the box thinker; look for opportunities to learn new software and technology
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on AWS / Azure / GCP offerings
  • Obtain and maintain relevant certifications as needed for the Cloud Engineering Practice
  • Collaborate with your team members and contribute as a technical team member while participating in multiple concurrent cloud focused projects, ensuring implementations are well aligned with the overall architecture
  • Identification and build of reusable and repeatable cloud-based patterns and artifacts that the practice can bring to market Implementation of cloud agnostic use cases leveraging cloud provider and 3rd party tools to deliver business outcomes for customers based on the identified requirements
  • Be an active member in the technology community, provide thought leadership and mentorship, share your knowledge and expertise

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • Experience with containerization, Kubernetes
  • Familiar with working in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Experience working with Linux based operating systems and related package managers
  • Experience creating technical diagrams
  • Good foundational understanding of networking (DNS, L2/4/7, load balancers)
  • Strong hands-on experience creating infrastructure-as-code resources and modules in Terraform
  • Comfortable using Git based version control and related management practices (gitflow, trunk-based, etc.)
  • Ability to write and debug scripts and glue-code in Bash and Python
  • Strong expertise and experience with one or more public clouds (GCP, Azure, AWS)
  • Strong understanding of containers and containerizing applications
  • Deep hands-on experience and expertise with Kubernetes
  • Experience writing Kubernetes manifests and templates (Helm, Kustomize)
  • Strong understanding and experience working with containers (writing dockerfiles, building and publishing containers)
  • Experience implementing and configuring Istio based Service Meshes
  • Understanding of site reliability engineering practices (SLI/SLO/SLAs, error budgets)
  • Hands on experience creating CI/CD pipelines and implementing advance deployment stages (blue/green, canary)
  • Experience implementing and using monitoring and observability tooling (APM, telemetry, dashboards, etc)
  • Fundamental understanding of best practices relating to security and hardening across a broad domain of technologies
  • Self-learner with a growth mindset
