POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Specialist (CS) will primarily support field sales in the Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic and related departments. This position requires teamwork and strategic planning with the Sales and Education teams. The focus of the CS is to be a resource to the Sales team, physician, OR and perioperative staff. The CS must be able to train and support the physician and their staff in various procedures and support them technically in the O.R., and other areas and during follow-up patient care as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Training of surgical OR staff personnel in the use of company devices
  • Guidance and support for physicians during live surgical cardiac ablation procedures, cryo nerve block procedures, and utilization and/or operation of company technology
  • Conduct training for the physician and medical staff with modalities such as didactic and hands-on laboratory approaches
  • Make calls on physicians and support staff as necessary to discuss AtriCure technology, training programs, and clinical programs and trials
  • Work in a team environment with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering
  • Communication on frequent basis, reporting on case notes and product and clinical feedback
  • Responsible for satisfying the requirements for hospital account and credentialing processes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience
  • 2 plus years healthcare, surgical, or OR experience
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with people across all levels
  • Computer and presentation experience with Microsoft programs such as PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate must enjoy and excel at personal relationship-building
  • Problem-solving / trouble-shooting skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, dependent upon territory

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree in technical or scientific field (Nurse, EP Lab, Perfusion, Cardiac Technology, etc)
  • Medical Device industry experience as Clinical Specialist or Sales Support (Cardiac or Thoracic surgery preferred)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to regularly walk, sit, stand, bend, push, pull as needed
  • Ability to pass account and hospital credentialing processes

For this position, the base pay range for this position is $80,000-$120,000 (Canadian Dollar) annually. The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience). You may also be entitled to receive bonus and commission, benefits, and more.
