Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority – Yellowknife Region (NTHSSA) is one of eight health and social services authorities established by the Department of Health and Social Services in the Government of the Northwest Territories.

NTHSSA – Yellowknife Region delivers and administers Population Health, Primary Health Care and Social Services programs in the communities of Dettah, Fort Resolution, Lutselk’e, Ndilo and Yellowknife.

Job Information

The Clinic Assistant, Public Health, is a member of the public health team, within Public Health of the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority. This position is responsible for providing dedicated support to public health in the coordination and management of administrative duties to ensure residents have access to timely, professional and sustainable health services required to maintain optimal health.

The position performs duties that support the ongoing day-to-day operation of the administration and health records area within the Public Health division. The Public Health division is comprised of public health, health promotion and nutrition programs. The position supports 15 staff as directed by the Office Supervisor. The incumbent works independently within established territorial and NTHSSA policies and procedures and is called upon to make clerical, administrative, and clinical decisions within their scope of practice.

Minimum Requirements

Typically attained by: High School / Secondary School diploma (grade 12) combined with two (2) years of recent, and relevant experience in a high paced, service-oriented, office environment.
