Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change has a mandate to protect the environment and human health through regulatory excellence, conservation, partnership, and promotion. The department works to support a clean and healthy environment in Nova Scotia, advance a clean economy, address the climate crisis, and guide the province towards a sustainable and clean future where all Nova Scotians can thrive.
The Climate Change Division’s Adaptation Team helps communities, businesses, and other levels of government understand and respond to the impacts of climate change on communities, the economy, ecosystems, and infrastructure through research, education, capacity building, planning, and partnerships.
You will support the Research and Knowledge Mobilization team in activities to strengthen our understanding of climate risk and adaptation in the province. This includes but is not limited to conducting background research and literature reviews, supporting evaluation activities, and assisting with data management and geospatial projects (i.e., GIS).
To be eligible for this position, you must currently be enrolled full-time in an Environmental Sciences or Studies, Planning, or other relevant post-secondary concentration and returning to school in Fall 2025. College or university-level training and/or coursework in GIS is required, with project experience considered an asset.
Knowledge of climate risk assessments and adaptation approaches is considered an asset, as is familiarity with equity in relation to climate change impacts.

Pay Grade: HOURLY
Salary Range: $20.09- $29.69 Hourly
