We are seeking a freelance facilitator to support quarterly meetings of our Client and Volunteer Advisory Committee.The facilitator will support us in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, fostering meaningful discussions, and ensuring the committee's goals are met effectively.
The committee meets once quarterly, and the mandate of the committee is to provide client & volunteer input and perspectives on matters that impact the operations and strategic priorities of the food bank.
The committee is made up of 10 client/volunteer seats, 2 board members, and the Executive Director.
The facilitator would be required to attend and support quarterly in-person meetings, which are scheduled based on the availability of the facilitator and the whole group. Prior to the meetings, an agenda-setting call would be arranged between the facilitator and the food bank's Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate four quarterly CVAC meetings each year.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and committee members to develop agendas aligned with CVAC’s mandate.
- Promote inclusive dialogue, ensuring all voices are heard and valued.
- Support follow-up activities, including documentation and next-step planning.
- Encourage active participation and alignment with the food bank's mission.
Qualifications:- Proven experience in group facilitation, particularly within diverse community or nonprofit settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to manage group dynamics effectively.
- Knowledge of food security, community engagement, or nonprofit operations is an asset.
- Commitment to the values of inclusivity and equity.
