List of Requirements

• Experience in client support or social services, with preference given to those with experience working with brain injury or neurological disorders
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
• Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude
• Knowledge of brain injury and its impacts on daily life (or willingness to learn)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
• Must be able to provide a clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
• Must hold a valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and have access to a vehicle (to engage in client outreach services)

List of Duties

• Provide one-on-one support to clients with brain injuries in their daily activities and rehabilitation plans
• Assist with goal-setting and developing personalized support plans to meet clients’ needs
• Offer emotional support and guidance to clients and their families
• Liaise with other healthcare professionals, community services, and family members to ensure comprehensive care
• Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes to the supervisor
• Help clients access community resources and programs to foster independence and integration
• Organize and facilitate group activities or workshops aimed at skill-building and social engagement
• Advocate for clients to ensure their needs are being met and rights are upheld
• Provide outreach services including travel to clients in surrounding areas and client support to engage in community activities
