Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
A written examination will be administered.
An interview will be administered.
Reference checks will be conducted.
Experience will be evaluated against depth and breadth of activities, and the complexity and diversity of the activities.
Candidates may be required to meet the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.
From this process, your application may be considered for either the AS-04 or AS-05 based on assessment results. If found qualified at the AS-05 level, you will be placed in the AS-04 and AS-05 pool.
Public service employees found qualified in this process may be considered for acting, assignment, deployment or secondment.
A random or top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.
There is a 180 day waiting period before you can reapply if eliminated from the inventory. Your application will not be reconsidered until the waiting period has elapsed.
You must provide proof of your education credentials.

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
