Class II Clerk - MGEU

Student Support Services (Lord Roberts Office Location)

Under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Student Support Services and the direction of the Director of Student Support Services, the clerk is responsible for switchboard and reception duties for Student Support Services, data management and input for the divisional specialized equipment inventory, support the SSS and CSS Team with Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) iPad (and other devices) inventory, liaising and supporting WSD Transportation Department with student specific transportation requests and needs, support for the division-wide Student Support Services team comprised of 14 Support Teachers and 24 Educational Assistants, clerical support for the Churchill/ Grant Park Family of Schools Interdisciplinary Team (located at Lord Roberts), and performing various other duties as required.

Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  1. Data management and clerical support data collection and tracking via Excel; knowledge of Mayet experience with DM an asset;
  2. Inventory Management Specialized Equipment Inventory data management, including inputting and editing, and liaising with schools;
  3. Support SSS and CSS with AAC inventory management; knowledge of AAC in schools an asset;
  4. Liaising and working collaboratively with WSD Transportation Team to support student and family transportation needs;
  5. Support for Student Support Services professional staff;
  6. Reception and general office clerical duties;
  7. Provides relief coverage for department clerical staff, including back up/support to other Student Support Services clerical staff;
  8. Dedication to anti-racism, equity, and diversity;

  11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Completion of secondary education with 1 - 2 years of office experience and coursework/training relevant to this position;
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel at intermediate level is required;
  3. Typing speed of 40 wpm is required;
  4. Experience with Mayet, Document Management, Infofinder and Microsoft is an asset;
  5. Ability to prioritize a large workload and independently complete a variety of secretarial duties;
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively to meet deadlines;
  7. Demonstrated problem-solving skills;
  8. Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute to a team environment;
  9. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
