The Cleaning Technician I is responsible for cleaning activities in the material storage and manufacturing areas, as well as providing occasional housekeeping support. At times, the cleaning technician may assist with work orders or ad hoc housekeeping requests, ensuring the documentation and facility is compliant for manufacture to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards. This role will report to the Cleaning Lead Hand.
Responsibilities:
Performs cleaning activities within clean rooms, laboratories, material storage/warehousing areas, as prioritized by schedule or as required.
Uses approved cleaning materials and tools.
Ensures all documentation is completed according to standard operating procedures, departmental policies, and Good Documentation Practices.
Completes all documentation timely and accurately.
Provides support for the cleaning of production areas, when required.
Assists and completes all appointed preventative/predictive maintenance programs within the allowed time frame, when assigned.
Monitors inventory of cleaning materials and consumables, and reports when items need to be ordered.
Identifies deficiencies and reports deviations immediately.
Completes work orders or special requests for housekeeping or cleaning activities.
Follows all departmental and company procedures, works in a safe manner, and reports any problems or violations of company policies and procedures to the Cleaning Lead Hand.
Informs the Cleaning Lead Hand regarding workload and the ability to execute assigned tasks properly and accurately while ensuring the cleaning activities achieve the targeted goals. If goals cannot be met, promptly reports the status to the Cleaning Lead Hand.
Assists in the organization of special events, including general meetings or other events, as required.
Performs quality work with little or no supervision.
Conforms all relevant departmental and company standard operating procedures to the principles of GMP.
Maintains a clear line of communication with the Cleaning Lead Hand at all times.
Provides recommendations regarding system improvements.
Assists others within the Operations team, when required.
Works in a safe manner and collaborates as a team member to achieve all outcomes.
All other relevant duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
1+ years of experience in an industrial/commercial cleaning or operations capacity in a biopharma/pharmaceutical GMP environment.
Minimum grade 12 education, or equivalent.
General knowledge of clean room operations.
General knowledge of building operations.
General knowledge of cleaning equipment operations.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
