E.C. Drury School for the Deaf/Trillium Demonstration School Campuses is looking for a dedicated person to:

  • keep the school clean every day by dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting washrooms, shower areas, furniture, walls, windows, and floors, and picking up garbage and recycling.
  • clear snow and ice from doorways and emergency exits.
  • operate and maintain cleaning equipment like buffing and shampoo machines.
  • order and deliver supplies, and help load and unload trucks.

Note: This position requires working afternoon shifts during the school year, with possible day shifts during holidays or for training. The current schedule is 1:30pm - 10pm, Monday to Friday.

What you bring to the team

Technical knowledge
You have knowledge of:
  • equipment, materials and cleaning processes
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) requirements for the handling of chemical solutions
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements related to work environment hazards
Communication, analytical and prioritization skills
You can:
  • set daily priorities, spot issues needing maintenance or repairs, keep track of tasks, order supplies, and report problems
  • communicate clearly and politely
  • understand department procedures and quality standards
