The Department of Energy is now accepting applications for up to three Co-op students for a period of 16 weeks starting on or after April 28, 2025. Candidates must provide proof of status as a full-time post-secondary student, be registered in a cooperative education post-secondary program, and be scheduled to return to school in Fall 2025 to be eligible for this program.
The Department of Energy serves the social, environmental, and economic interests of Nova Scotians by ensuring all energy resources are developed and used in an efficient and sustainable manner. The Department delivers programs and activities related to electricity, renewable energy, energy efficiency, petroleum, and industry development.
The Clean Energy Branch provides leadership and direction to help transition the electricity, building, and transportation sectors to clean energy, and efficient energy use. The Branch focuses on policies and programs that help achieve the Province’s clean energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals, while maximizing benefits to Nova Scotians by promoting local energy production, system reliability and equity.
In this position, you will be under the general supervision of one or more of the following Divisions in the Clean Energy Branch:

As the ideal candidate(s), you must be a returning student in the next applicable semester of a relevant program (such as Science, Engineering, Business, Environment, Sustainability) with an interest in Clean Energy, and be enrolled as a cooperative education student.

Salary Range: $18.29- $29.69 Hourly
