Class 3 Driver

We are currently looking for Class 3 Drivers to join our Cumberland Curbside Waste Collection Team to drive a recycle/garbage truck through the neighborhoods providing the waste collection in our local communities. Opportunities exist to drive conventional diesel rear-loads or our new electric ASL Mack trucks.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of a Class 3 recycle/garbage truck (with air brakes)
• Conduct all activities in accordance with the collection schedule
• Collect garbage/recycling/yard waste from residential neighborhoods, apartment buildings, businesses, and other facilities
• Work safely in accordance with WorkSafeBC and our company policies
• Conduct daily inspection of vehicle and accurately complete related documentation
• Communicate with supervisor regarding concerns or suggestions
• Dispose of curbside collections according to set policies and procedures at the designated disposal sites.

Qualifications

• Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement
• Clean driving record (abstract required)
• Minimum 1 year experience driving Class 3 vehicles
• Safety minded approach to the daily tasks
• Ability to work outdoors and safely lift up to 50lbs
• Customer service and public interaction skills – written and verbal
• Ability to pass a criminal record check and drug/alcohol test
• Reliability, dedicated and team minded

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Wage: $26.78/hr starting wage

$28.33/hr plus $3.50/hr additional bonus incentive after 3 months' probation.

$1,000 hire bonus to be paid out after passing probation.

Fully paid benefits after probation.
