Job description

You are a Class 1 Truck Driver with experience in heavy civil maintenance projects. You will be an integral part of the Ledcor team working with our core maintenance crew. For you, safety and quality are a priority, and you are proud of your work at the end of each day. You have previously worked alongside crews within a civil environment, are a team player who is willing to lend a hand whenever assistance is required to get the job done.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive / operate articulated truck
  • Assist in the maintenance of winch and heavy trucks as needed
  • Complete relevant paperwork as required by National Safety Code and legal standards
  • Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and complete daily field level hazard assessments for all activities
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
  • Be a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years working in an industrial setting
  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s License and Driver's Abstract
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ledcor requires possession of CSTS-09 or 2020 (Construction Safety Training Systems)
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1
  • Bear Awareness certification
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Training can be provided for OFA L1 and Bear Awareness

Work Conditions:

  • Applicants that reside in Kitimat, BC or surrounding areas will be given preference due to the location of this project
  • Local Candidates must have their own transportation to travel to and from the project
  • For non-local workers, camp and flights will be provided
  • Site based role, 14 days on and 7 days off rotational shift will be assigned, working 10-hour days
  • Short term work - Approximately 1.5 months of work with the potential to extend
  • Extended health benefits provided by CLAC
  • Work will be outdoors in rough terrain, in all weather conditions and in an environmentally sensitive area

Rates:

  • Operators will be provided a base rate of $33.01 - $38.95 per hour

Compensation

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
