Class 1 Line Haul Driver

We are currently looking for Professional Class 1 Line Haul drivers to run regular routes as assigned. This position offers reliability and diversity as new routes arise.

Shift available:

Monday - Friday 11pm Start time

$.36 per KM once LCV / $23 per hour

• Candidates must have:
• Valid copy of PDIC and LCV certification
• Previous LCV experience
• Mentorship runs will be provided once onboarded
• Candidate must be enthusiastic about working nights. *There is no opportunity for day time runs in the short, medium, or long term*
• Willing to work M-F, close to a full logbook
• Most schedules consist of day cab runs. Bunking possibilities if interested, but not required

This position is responsible for the safe and on-time delivery as a professional Class 1 Driver. The Linehaul department performs works in the Linehaul Department to provide full truckload freight transportation of goods between terminal locations.

Work Performed

• Perform routine pre-trip inspections and adjustments of brakes, tires, lights, horns, etc. as per Schedule 1. Lift truck hood to check fluids levels;
• Perform emergency, minor and preventative maintenance repairs ensuring to report damage to dispatcher which will be reported to the maintenance department;
• Control operation of vehicle and equipment as trained and licensed;
• Comply with National Safety Code and Provincial Highway / Traffic regulations;
• Comply with Transportation of Dangerous Goods Clear Language regulations;
• Comply with highway weigh scale procedures as directed by transportation officials;
• Observe all company rules, policies and procedures with regards to quality control, Occupational Health and Safety, etc.;
• Operate company provided PDAs and cell phones for communication with dispatch, complying with applicable laws and company policy for communication devices;
• Meet schedules and deadlines and drive in all weather, traffic and road conditions;
• Complete all hook and unhook trailers;
• Chain or strap loads. Check load securement as required, tighten straps and chains as needed;
• Keep accurate drivers’ logs (ELD & paper) as required to document mileage, hours and material hauled;
• Wearing of job specific PPE clothing, masks, glasses or visors;
• Keep vehicles clean inside and out;
• Attach chains to tires when required and ensure following safe work practices as per company policy and procedures;
• Advise dispatch of all incidents and injuries immediately;
• Perform sundry duties as assigned by the Terminal Manager, dispatch or manager.
