The Opportunity

WSP is currently seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training for our Transportation and Infrastructure group. This position is based in our Cranbrook office, reporting to the Branch Manager, Infrastructure. This position will be responsible for working on municipal projects with a focus on public and private clients involving water and wastewater systems, storm water management, municipal roads, and land development.

A day in the life:

  • Preliminary and detailed design of civil works for water supply systems, sanitary sewers, and stormwater systems.
  • Construction services including site inspection and contract administration on projects, including travel.
  • Proposal development.
  • Drafting using Civil 3D.
  • Attending design meetings with clients, other consultants, and contractors.
  • Writing design reports.
  • Site investigations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to WSP ...

  • An undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
  • Progressive experience with a mix of design, project management, and construction experience.
  • Professional Engineer or eligibility for registration in EGBC is required.
  • Experience in construction management and production of contract documents.
  • Previous success in customer services, client management, and proposal/report writing.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Salary range (in British Columbia): $61,600 - $84,700.

The final salary awarded for this role may vary based on several factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
