BGC Okanagan is hiring multiple casual/relief roles for Childcare Workers in our School Aged Child Care Programs in the South Okanagan.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Responsible for caring, nurturing, supervision and safety of children 5 – 12 years old.
  • Responsible for implementing activities for children 5 – 12 years old.
  • Use Club Vans to drop off and pick up children from school and transport to various sites for recreational purposes.
  • Establish open communication with parents/care givers.
  • Ensure that specific goals of children and program are met.
  • Ensure Agency Policies and Procedures, program standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing regulations, risk management requirements and general facility safety standards are met.
  • Ensure that the Agency Mission Statement, Vision and Core Values are incorporated into everyday practice.
Qualifications
  • A diploma, certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education or other social services.
  • 20 hour responsible adult training or willingness to take internally upon hire.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age (as per Provincial Licensing Standards).
  • Current First Aid certificate and Food Safe (or willingness to obtain).
  • Successful completion of Agency screening process, including criminal record check.

This position is open to all applicants.

This position requires union membership with CUPE.

Hours: Monday to Friday; Casual/on-call

Normally 1:00pm - 6:15pm, with increased hours over the school breaks.

Rate of Pay: $22.60 per hour
