Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Child and Youth Care Team Lead to join our team in Medicine Hat. This role is crucial in ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of our Provincial Campus Based Care program, providing leadership and support to our dedicated Child and Youth Care Workers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Supervision: Oversee and mentor a team of Child and Youth Care Workers, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Program Management: Implement and supervise individualized care plans, ensuring the therapeutic and social environment meets the needs of the youth.
  • Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and secure environment, managing high-risk situations and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Team Development: Conduct regular team meetings, provide coaching, and support staff development through training and performance evaluations.
  • Partner Collaboration: Liaise with families, community agencies, and other partners to support the youth’s care and reintegration into the community.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Care is preferred. Other related Human Services degrees or diplomas may be considered.
  • A minimum of three years progressively responsible experience in a campus-based care setting is required.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Preference Will Be Given To Those Who Have:

  • A high cultural competency in Indigenous experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Related experience in therapeutic campus-based care settings.
  • Current first aid certificate, suicide intervention training.

This position works 38.75 hours per week with a shift schedule of 3 evening shifts (2:45-11pm), 3 day shifts (7am-3:15 pm), and 3 regular days off.
