We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to work with youth in a group home setting. Candidates should be educated and have experience assisting youth in therapeutic residential programs. Youth workers will support youth in attending court, academic programming, home visits, and daily functions.
Required Skills:
Experience with youth who have special needs and behavioral difficulties is preferred.
Ability to build trusting relationships and participate in a professional treatment team approach.
Effective social skills to be a positive role model.
Familiarity with Child & Youth residential programming and assessment skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of concepts of power, privilege, and social location related to various forms of oppression.
Ability to relate to Indigenous youth and understand relevant issues.
Education and Background:
Completed or working towards one of the following:
Child and Youth Worker, CYW
Developmental Service Worker, DSW
Social Service Worker, SSW
Police Foundations, Law and Security
Community Justice Worker
Youth Outreach Worker
Addictions Worker, Addictions Counselor
Mental Health, Corrections
BSW, Bachelor of Social Work
