Due to our clients’ ongoing growth, they are on the hunt for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee their operations and drive strategic growth. This person can be located in either Edmonton or Calgary.
The ideal candidate will have a background in managing blue-collar workforces, showcasing the ability to cultivate strong relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the growth strategy for their Alberta locations as approved by the CEO.
- Oversee the integration of operations between the Edmonton and Calgary Branches to ensure seamless functionality.
- Implement the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) within the organization to enhance productivity and accountability.
- Lead and mentor the operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Streamline operational processes to improve efficiency within the organization.
- Integrate cost-saving strategies that align with the company’s financial objectives.
- Train and mentor future leaders within the organization to build a robust leadership pipeline.
- Oversee the integration of any new acquisitions into the operational framework.
- Contribute to the development of all company strategies and associated budgets, focusing on EBITDA.
- Identify and introduce new growth opportunities to the leadership team to expand market presence.
- Cultivate and enhance the current culture within the organization, ensuring alignment with values and mission.
- Manage the vehicle fleet and equipment, optimizing utilization and maintenance.
- Mitigate operational liability risks by implementing best practices and compliance measures across all operations.
The successful candidate has:
- Proven experience as a senior leader within the landscaping or similar industry that hires blue-collar workers.
- Demonstrated experience in mergers, acquisitions and growth.
- Strong knowledge of operational management, strategy development, and financial acumen.
- Experience working with both white-collar and blue-collar employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to drive change and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Compensation and benefits:
- The discussed salary range is $180,000 to $200,000 per annum depending on experience.
