Reports to Reliability Manager. He/she will work in the reliability group supporting the site mechanical integrity programs and will be accountable for the site compliance for specific programs such as our integrity management system, ABSA owner user program and the completion of code inspection of pressure vessels, pressure relief devices, piping and tanks. As the Chief Inspector he/she is expected to work closely with and support maintenance and engineering personnel while mentoring and providing general direction to other inspectors.
Responsibilities
Fixed/Fabricated Equipment Mechanical Integrity
Administrator of site ABSA Integrity Management System
Supervise contract inspectors and NDE personnel
Develop and execute inspection plans for in-service and new equipment
Provide reliability services to the overall plant operation with an emphasis on pressure equipment
Contribute technical direction and guidance in investigations and maintenance strategies to ensure optimum process performance and reliability
Analyze equipment performance and drive improvements in the areas of safety, reliability, mechanical integrity, environmental performance and production.
Lead equipment/ Plant reliability improvements through the identification and correction of bad actors, conduct root cause failure analysis, meet mechanical integrity requirements, and implement preventive/predictive inspection programs
Maintain key performance indicators for equipment and use these to define appropriate planned maintenance intervals that optimize the costs of preventative maintenance work against operational availability and define replacement strategies based on their remaining lifespans.
During plant turnarounds provide technical support and as required develop/recommend remediation plans on any 'as found' work.
Provide input to Capital Project teams to improve equipment design and safe work practices which are key to assisting EVA in achieving our 'top in class' performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications
5 years experience with pressure vessels.

ABSA Inservice Pressure Equipment Inspector
High School Diploma

Related Engineering Degree or 1st Class Power Engineers Certification or Mechanical/Material/ or Welding Technologist Certification
National Board Commission
Qualification as a welding Inspector
Previous work experience as a chief inspector
NDE Certificates
Six Sigma - Lean Certification
Experience in reliability centered maintenance programs
