As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team and lead our financial operations.
Position Overview
The CFO will oversee the company's financial management, strategic planning, risk management, and compliance with Canadian financial regulations. This position will ensure financial stability, growth, and the efficient management of financial resources. The CFO will be a key advisor to the CEO and executive team, managing everything from budgeting and forecasting to invoicing, tax filings, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership: Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to align with business goals.
Financial Management: Oversee financial reporting, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow projections. Manage annual budgeting and forecasting.
Invoicing & Receivables: Ensure accurate and timely invoicing of clients for healthcare staffing services and monitor collections to minimize outstanding receivables.
Tax Compliance: Oversee the timely and accurate filing of payroll-related tax documents (T4s, T4As) and corporate tax filings, ensuring compliance with CRA regulations.
Risk Management: Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws and industry-specific regulations.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and collaborating across departments to improve financial processes.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate financial results and strategy to the CEO, board of directors, and investors.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA (or equivalent) certification required; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Experience:
10+ years in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (preferably in healthcare, staffing, or service industries).
Proven experience managing financial operations, budgeting, and forecasting.
Expertise in Canadian payroll tax compliance, including T4/T4A filings, and experience with corporate tax filings.
Strong knowledge of healthcare financial regulations and staffing models is an asset.
