Job description

Position Summary:

The CEO of Gracie Barra Kitsilano will be responsible for driving the overall strategic vision and operational leadership of the organization. This role requires a dynamic leader who can establish and execute long-term objectives, formulate policies and programs, and allocate resources effectively to ensure the growth and sustainability of the academy. The CEO will play a critical role in shaping the organizational culture, guiding senior management, and representing the company in various official capacities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Establish the company's long-term objectives and strategic direction in alignment with the core values of Gracie Barra Kitsilano.
    • Formulate and approve policies, programs, and initiatives that drive organizational growth and student success.
  2. Organizational Development:
    • Authorize and organize the establishment of key departments and staff positions to support the academy’s operations.
    • Ensure that the organizational structure supports the academy’s mission, vision, and goals.
  3. Resource Allocation:
    • Allocate material, human, and financial resources effectively to implement organizational policies and programs.
    • Establish and monitor financial and administrative controls to maintain the academy’s financial health.
    • Formulate and approve promotional campaigns that enhance the visibility and reputation of Gracie Barra Kitsilano.
  4. Personnel Management:
    • Select and oversee middle managers, ensuring that the team is aligned with the academy's objectives.
    • Approve overall personnel planning, including hiring, training, and development initiatives.
  5. Operational Coordination:
    • Coordinate the activities of various regions, divisions, or departments to ensure seamless operations and consistent delivery of services.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of different organizational units to achieve optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Representation and Negotiation:
    • Represent Gracie Barra Kitsilano in negotiations, public events, and other official functions, or delegate representatives as needed.
    • Act as the primary spokesperson for the academy, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including students, parents, community partners, and industry leaders.

Qualifications:

  • 7 to 10 years of proven experience in a senior leadership role, including commercial, marketing, and team management.
  • Proven experience within a martial arts or fitness-focused organization.
  • Strong understanding of business management, strategic planning, and organizational development.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated ability to allocate resources effectively and manage financial and operational controls.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the capacity to represent the company in various official capacities.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
  • IBJJF Black Belt certification (preferred).
  • Gracie Barra ICP - Instructor Certification Program (preferred).
