The University of Lethbridge Business Corporation (ULBC) is a newly established company with the purpose of leading land development projects and managing properties on land within the University of Lethbridge campus. Development projects will take place on land that is not necessary for the academic or research efforts of the University and will include a mix of residential and commercial spaces.
The University of Lethbridge and the ULBC are separate organizations, with the ULBC operating at arms’ length under its own Board of Directors. All profits earned by the ULBC will go to the University of Lethbridge as the sole beneficiary. These funds will be used to support the core academic operations of the institution and will contribute to creating a long-term, sustainable revenue stream for the University.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of the company and driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence. The CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders to ensure the company’s long-term success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Leadership – develop and execute the strategic plan to promote revenue, profitability and growth
2. Organizational Management – Provide hands-on management and oversite of daily operations and ensure the company operates in accordance with its strategic plan
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building – build strong relationships with stakeholders including employees, clients, partners, and investors.
4. Financial Management and Sustainability – manage the company’s financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
5. Board Governance and Support – Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and the company’s operations.
6. Compliance and Risk Management – ensure the company’s risks are managed effectively and that it is compliance with regulations
7. Leadership and Team Development – provide strong leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
8. Impact Measurement and Reporting - Utilize data and metrics to drive decision-making, continuous improvement, and evidence-based practices.
9. Ethical Standards and Integrity – Forster a company culture that promotes ethical practices.
10. Industry Knowledge and Professional Development - Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging practices, and innovations in land development, urban planning, and sustainable development.
