Chemical Operator – Toronto

Siltech Corporation, a Canadian owned global provider of organo-functional silicone specialties, is looking to hire immediately full time, permanent Chemical Operators for our Toronto Plant.

This opportunity offers a full Benefits and Pension package after a 3-month probation period at which time the hourly rate increases to $42.57. A fully trained Chemical Operator earns in excess of $53.00 per hour.

This is an entry level position for an individual interested in a career as a Chemical Operator.

Responsibilities:

1. Operating filters and packaging equipment safely and efficiently
2. Meeting all quality goals and scheduling deadlines
3. Performing Quality Control tests
4. Cleanup duties for plant and equipment
5. Becoming familiar with a variety of procedures for the production of multiple products
6. Training over a period of 2-3 years to be responsible for the complete processing of all products in all reactors, including in-process analytical work

This is a 24/7 12-hour Continental Shift.

Qualifications:

1. Grade 12 graduate with forklift experience
2. Preferred: 1-3 years’ experience in a chemical plant or relevant industrial experience
3. Familiarity with pumps, filters, chemicals, and safety equipment
4. Basic math skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
5. Ability to perform designated tasks with concentration and precision, under minimum supervision
