Deer Creek is Hiring!

We are seeking an experienced and motivated person to join our culinary team. This role is vital to maintaining the quality and safety of the food we serve, ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of meals, ensuring food quality, maintaining kitchen safety and cleanliness, and supporting other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation & Cooking:
    1. Prepare and cook meals according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
    2. Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
    3. Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of food.
    4. Monitor and maintain the quality and quantity of food prepared, while minimizing food waste.
    5. Prepare special meals or substitute items based on guest requests.
  2. Food Safety & Sanitation:
    1. Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure food safety in all aspects of food handling.
    2. Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives, and equipment to meet health department standards.
    3. Maintain food logs and monitor temperatures of appliances and food to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  3. Team Collaboration:
    1. Communicate effectively with the Chef and Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items.
    2. Assist colleagues during busy periods to ensure timely service and optimal guest satisfaction.
    3. Work as a role model, assisting in the training, scheduling, and motivating of fellow employees.
  4. Safety & Security:
    1. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions immediately.
    2. Follow safety protocols for the operation and storage of kitchen tools, equipment, and machines.
    3. Complete necessary safety training and certifications as required by company policies.
  5. General Kitchen Duties:
    1. Maintain cleanliness and organization of food storage areas, ensuring compliance with sanitation and pest control guidelines.
    2. Follow food safety handling procedures, including product rotation, labeling, and organizing storage areas.
    3. Assist with setup and breakdown of workstations and kitchen equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during shifts.
  2. Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  3. Perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, and stooping.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
  2. Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience in a kitchen environment.
  3. Supervisory Experience: Not required.
