The HIM Data Integrity Coordinator is responsible for working Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation follow-up, In-Basket follow-up messages, document upload and related work queues, including the EMR error and issues queues. Leads EMR Analysts in working EMR issues to closure. Also responsible for training analysts on Epic process and procedures required to ensure documentation compliance is met consistently. The HIM Data Integrity Coordinator must possess a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of EMR documentation and related workflows as needed to effectively and independently investigate and resolve both chart documentation corrections and documentation upload errors
Associate degree in Health Information Management or equivalent EMR/IT training and/or experience preferred. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a health information management or information systems setting with solid working knowledge of key health information functions and workflows. Demonstrated working or educational knowledge of EMR documentation requirements with hands on experience in an EMR environment including indexing, uploading, linking and otherwise resolving documentation upload errors and issues. Preference to RHIAs or RHITs
