Reporting to the Manager, Organizational Change, the Change Specialist is responsible for building and implementing change strategies and plans for business transformation initiatives. This role involves leading change management initiatives across various leadership levels and collaborating with a network of change professionals across the organization. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a proven track record in driving successful change in large-scale change programs. They will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
This role is based in Vancouver and requires working in-office 3–4 times a week, with domestic and international travel as needed.
ResponsibilitiesBe a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
Build and implement comprehensive change management strategies and plans.
Lead change activities for various business transformation workstreams.
Provide expert change management advice and support to leadership teams.
Ensure organizational change efforts address key change levers, including stakeholder management, leadership alignment, communications and engagement, training and adoption.
Participate in leadership meetings and report on Organizational Change measures including business readiness and risk.
Collaborate with a broader network of change professionals to ensure consistency with the change management framework and ensure cohesive and effective application across the business.
Deliver all program requirements including stakeholder analysis, impact assessments, communications, organizational readiness assessment.
Establish leadership alignment and build change competencies including establishing a Change Leader and Change Champion network to support the implementation.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, organizational development, or a related field. CCMP designation or other accredited change management certifications.
Must have 6+ years’ experience as a change practitioner, with deep understanding of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
Experience implementing business transformation projects, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technology and/or Enterprise Operating Model (EOM) would be an asset.
Experience in the mining or resource sectors beneficial.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
Strong interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with diverse teams.
Demonstrated ability to analyze, problem solve, stay organized and lead multiple assignments.
Works effectively as an individual and in a collaborative team environment.
Has strong leadership skills; able to influence and guide large groups through change.
Must be comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity.
Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Experience developing communications and engagement strategies including leading and planning workshops and meetings.
Ability to travel to Teck offices and sites domestically and internationally as required.
Experience in managing culture change would be an asset.
