Join our board as Chair as we continue our ambition to support more families facing some of life’s toughest challenges to experience the life-changing impact of a holiday.

Family Holiday Charity is seeking a Chair to work alongside the senior leadership team and other trustees to guide the charity’s strategy and ultimately ensure the charity delivers its mission and vision.

We’re looking for someone who shares our passion for supporting all families to get time away together.

Ideally, you’ll have a leadership background in the travel/leisure industry and will bring ideas on how to diversify our income and reach more families.

You’ll bring experience in chairing meetings and will promote a collaborative team environment.

You will also have experience in the charity sector.

Responsibilities

• Directly support families on a low income to have a paid-for holiday in the UK.
• Develop support services to help families excluded from tourism overcome the barriers they face.
• Research the impact and value of including families in tourism and use what we learn to influence change.
• Build relationships with the tourism industry and government to champion greater access to holidays for families.

Time Commitment

The time commitment is approximately the equivalent of one day per month, including conversations with the CEO, attending occasional events, and participating in other committees, as well as attending board meetings. There are currently four two-hour board meetings per year, in February, May, August, and November on Thursday evenings from 5 – 7 p.m. There is also an ‘in person’ strategy day in September which is held on a weekday in London. We can support with any access needs for in-person meetings.
