Job description

Highline Beta is hiring a CEO for a B2B marketplace startup working in the health professional temp and full-time staffing space for a niche vertical. The company is live and in-market with consistent month-over-month growth in users, customers and revenue.

Our goal is to bring this company to the next level with a new CEO that has significant marketing and business development experience.

The company is funded by Highline Beta and a strategic investor, and will look to raise its next round of financing in Q2. You will lead the financing with our support.

Despite the CEO title, you will need to get your hands dirty and work with a small, nimble team. We're not looking for a "manager" but someone that can execute work at the grassroots level. At the same time, you won't be starting from scratch; the company has a product and customers with significant growth potential.

You can be located anywhere, but our preference is in the Eastern Time Zone. You will receive a salary and equity compensation.

Compensation:

  • Base: $150K with target $250K based on performance
  • Equity: 10% with target 20% based on performance
Qualifications
  • B2B Experience: Proven track record in building, launching and scaling B2B businesses; ideally from 0 to 1 and beyond. Ideally you've been a startup CEO before and/or helped grow an early stage startup to significant scale.
  • Marketplace Experience: Proven track record in building, launching and scaling marketplaces, ideally B2B-focused ones.
  • Marketing & Sales Expertise: Strong background in sales, growth marketing, user/customer acquisition and partnerships, with demonstrable success in growing revenue.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically and execute methodically, balancing short-term objectives with long-term goals.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and drive a team towards common goals.
  • Product Management: Familiarity with product management principles and practices, ensuring the development of a user-centric product.
Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the company's vision, mission and overall strategy.
  • Customer & User Acquisition: Drive customer & user acquisition strategies, leveraging your expertise in marketing and partnerships.
  • Partnership Development: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships that enhance our product offering and market reach.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Highline Beta and our partner to ensure alignment and support in achieving our company milestones.
  • Team Building: Manage and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and excellence.
  • Product Development: Use your product management experience to guide the product team, ensuring a customer-centric approach to development and continuous improvement.
  • Financial Management: Work closely with Highline Beta and our partner to manage the company's financial health, including budgeting, forecasting and securing additional funding as needed.
