Job description

Fusion Pharmaceuticals, a member of the AstraZeneca Group, is a clinical-stage oncology company focused on developing next-generation radioconjugates (RCs) as precision medicines. Fusion connects alpha particle emitting isotopes to various targeting molecules to selectively deliver the alpha emitting payloads to tumors. Fusion’s clinical portfolio includes: FPI-2265 targeting prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer currently in a Phase 2 trial; FPI-1434 targeting insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor currently in a Phase 1 trial; FPI-2059, a small molecule targeting neurotensin receptor 1 (NTSR1), currently in a Phase 1 trial; and FPI-2068, a bispecific IgG-based EGFR-cMET targeted radioconjugate currently in a Phase 1 trial. In addition, Fusion is pursuing combination programs between RCs and DNA Damage Response Inhibitors (DDRis) and immune-oncology agents. Fusion has a fully operational Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant state-of-the-art radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility to meet supply demand for Fusion's growing pipeline of RCs.

Position Overview:
The Cell Culture Quality Control (QC) Technologist will be responsible for performing quality control testing and analysis of cell cultures in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment. This role is critical to ensure the integrity, purity, and viability of cell lines used in research and product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Quality Control Tests: Conduct routine and specialized tests on cell cultures, including sterility testing, cell viability assays, and mycoplasma detection.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze test results and maintain accurate records in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and validated. Troubleshoot any issues that arise with cell culture equipment.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop, review, and follow SOPs related to cell culture and QC testing. Ensure adherence to safety and compliance regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with research and development teams to provide QC support for ongoing projects. Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss findings.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or higher is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in cell culture techniques is essential. Previous experience is a quality control or related laboratory roles is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in tissue culture techniques and aseptic techniques.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as FDA, GMP, and GLP.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Proficient with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis software.
