The Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education (CCRCE) is comprised of 2,800 staff, all striving to provide a well-rounded education for over 19,000 students in grades Primary to 12. Our Region is made up of 67 schools in central and northern Nova Scotia, stretching from the New Brunswick border to the Antigonish County line and from the Northumberland Strait to the Halifax Regional Municipality.
The Human Resources Generalist reports directly to the Coordinator of Human Resources and supports the following functions in the Human Resources department:
Staffing Processes
- Supporting the HR Management team with recruitment and staffing initiatives including: developing job postings and promotion on various platforms.
- Supporting school administrators and management team by overseeing the casual and substitute lists to determine operational needs.
- Managing the logistics of job fairs on behalf of CCRCE.
- Oversee and support the employee onboarding experience.
Administrative
- Writing, updating and maintaining all job descriptions.
- Monitoring and responding to centralized HR email.
- Supporting the HR Management team in preparing materials and correspondence.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies:
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources Management.
- Knowledge in best practices in talent acquisition.
- Experience in effective recruitment strategies.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Superior customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with various system databases and learn new technologies.
