The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education is responsible for the administration of the public school system within the boundaries of Cape Breton and Victoria Counties, supporting approximately 12,000 students in 38 schools.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 6.5 hours daily (flexible schedule including some evening and weekend hours may be required).
WORK TERM: Permanent regular positions (working 10 months per year).
RATE OF PAY: $30.02 per hour.

POSITION SCOPE:
The Student Support Worker - Indigenous will be available for students who are racially, culturally, and socially “at risk”. Their primary role will be to monitor and provide support to these students and their families, as well as be the liaison between the school and the Mi'kmaq community. The overall objective will be to help these students achieve positive educational experiences, experience success, and remain in school. The Student Support Worker reports to the Principal and the Coordinator of Mi'kmaq Education Services who will organize regular meetings and coordinate ongoing professional development for the Student Support Worker.
