Position Overview:
Casual Relief Workers work with local Tikinagan staff to help families and children in the community. This position provides the opportunity to work flexible hours and gain experience. Casual Relief Workers also make a valuable contribution to the well-being of individual children or families and to the community as a whole. The work of Casual Relief Workers and all our staff are guided by our Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model – everyone working together to raise our children.

Because of the nature of our services, Tikinagan has to make sure that the children and families we serve are safe and that the staff we hire don’t pose any risks to clients. One of the measures we take is to have new staff provide a criminal background check. All successful applicants will require an application for, or a current, Criminal Record Check (CRC). A Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) for those positions working with children will also be required. As such, it is recommended that applicants apply for a CRC & VSC as soon as possible.
