Job description

We are a trusted provider of data center solutions and IT services. We are currently looking for On-Call Data Center Technicians to join us. If you are an experienced technician seeking flexible, intermittent work in equipment management and hands-on technical support, we'd like to hear from you.

Job Summary :

PLEASE NOTE : You will need to be a self-employed contractor to be eligible for this work. We are seeking contractors that are available to receive intermittent contract tasks, and can invoice for their work. Travel may be involved and will be paid for.

As an On-Call Data Center Technician, you will be supported by our best-practice training, providing essential support for data center operations on behalf of our clients. You will work on an on-call basis, assisting with equipment storage, staging, hardware deliveries, replacements, and troubleshooting as needed.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. On-call availability to respond to equipment staging and delivery requests.
  2. Safely and securely store and stage IT hardware and equipment.
  3. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of hardware to client sites.
  4. Perform hardware replacements and upgrades in data center environments.
  5. Troubleshoot and diagnose faulty equipment to minimize downtime.
  6. Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in data center operations.
  7. Keep detailed records of equipment movements, issues, and resolutions.
  8. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective support.

Requirements :

  1. Proven experience as a Data Center Technician or in a similar role.
  2. Decent knowledge of data center equipment, IT hardware, and associated technologies.
  3. Ability to work on an on-call basis and respond to urgent requests.
  4. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  5. Familiarity with data center safety procedures and protocols.
  6. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  7. Flexibility and adaptability to changing work schedules.
  8. Physical fitness to handle equipment and perform tasks within data center environments.
  9. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites if needed.
  10. Flexibility to work during non-standard hours and weekends when required.

A strong interest in IT networks and technology. No prior work experience is required - we're looking for individuals willing to learn and grow in the field. A professional attitude and good communication skills are a must. Willingness to work collaboratively with a team and take direction from experienced professionals. Ability to work independently and under time-sensitive conditions.
