Are you ready to kickstart your career in the carpentry/construction industry? Tlicho Community Builders (TCB) is seeking motivated and hardworking Carpenter Apprentice to join our team in Behchokǫ̀, NT. This exciting opportunity will allow you to gain hands-on experience and develop essential skills in residential and commercial construction.

As an Apprentice Carpenter, you’ll work directly under the guidance of a Red-Seal Carpenter, learning everything from framing to finishing and beyond. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to grow your career over a four-year period, leading to a Carpenter trade certification.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in framing, drywall installation, roofing, and finishing tasks under the guidance of experienced carpenters.
2. Prepare construction materials and assist with other carpentry tasks such as measuring, cutting, and assembling.
3. Follow blueprints, specifications, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality work.
4. Operate hand and power tools safely under supervision.
5. Maintain a clean, organized worksite and assist in tool and equipment management.
6. Participate in on-the-job training and pursue learning opportunities to enhance skills.
7. Work collaboratively within a team, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.

Qualifications

1. Minimum Grade 12 diploma.
2. Eligible and eager to register as an Apprentice.
3. Previous construction or carpentry experience is a plus.
4. Strong interest in learning and developing a career in carpentry.
5. Ability to read and interpret blueprints (training will be provided).
6. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
7. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
9. Valid driver's license considered an asset.
