We are currently in need of a Carpenter Apprentice in the Atholville area to work in a diverse setting and to be responsible for effectively assisting in the execution of all construction division projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting a journeyman carpenter with construction and remodeling projects
Helping build wooden structures
Learning and practicing essential carpentry skills on the job
Maintaining a safe work environment
Setting up and maintaining tools for your supervising carpenter
Collaborating with senior carpenters on projects
Handling tools and equipment
Taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed
Cutting, shaping, and smoothing lumber and other material according to measurements
Building window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings using raw materials or pre-constructed items
Laying out flooring, roofing, or drywall ensuring they are leveled and compatible
Assembling furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items and installing them where designated
Inspecting places and conducting repairs or maintenance
Building scaffolding and other construction structures
Providing customers with necessary safety information or instructions concerning all equipment left at the site and areas extracted and/or just cleaned. Leaving job-site with a clean and orderly appearance.
Participating in weekly safety meetings

General

Ensuring compliance with health and safety and reporting requirements at the highest priority
Maintaining professional conduct and appearance in all client-facing activities while ensuring company dress code is adhered to
Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service throughout the project
Ensuring high standards of workmanship and efficiency
Establishing positive rapport with clients when possible
Adhering to all company workplace policies
Performing other duties as may be required

Work Experience Requirements
Minimum 1 (1) year of experience in a carpentry role. Construction experience in the disaster restoration industry is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements
This position requires a moderate level of physical exertion. Moderate intensity of sensory effort is required.

Working Conditions
There is a moderate risk of exposure to adverse working conditions. Working outside of normal hours may be occasionally required to deal with emergencies.
